Dr. Nich Beer, M.D.!

How strange is it that 4 years has already passed, and all the hard work, blood (literally), sweat, and tears has led to this one glorious occasion where the 150 medical students, their faculty, and honored guests, get to gather together in a giant hall and watch our beloved medical-student-family-member walk across the stage in a long black robe draped in cords and colors, wearing an 8-cornered tasseled hat, and get "hooded" (making it all very official) that somehow looks really cool in the building but really goofy as soon as the ceremony's over and it looks like a strange Halloween costume?

It is so surreal seeing my husband graduate from medical school and get hooded by our pediatrician, and realizing he is officially an MD! I am so so so impressed with him, and I don't think he'll ever realize just how proud I am of him! Yes, I'll admit I was trying (rather unsuccessfully) to hold back tears seeing him walk across the stage with that huge smile on his face, and Oliver was happily saying "Daddy" while pointing to Nich the whole time. What a wonderful moment :)
