22 Weeks and Counting

Check out our baby's entire body in this amazing image! All curled up - he was asleep when they started the ultrasound :)
We just got back from a visit to our High Risk doctor and our OB and each one performed and ultrasound! So fun seeing our boy so much today!! We got a bunch of really good 3D images and I'm posting a few of my favorites :) We are 22 weeks today and our boy is about 11 inches head to heel, and weighs about 1 pound 2 ounces. His little heart is perfect and beating at 148 beats per minute, and the cysts that were being watched are gone, as expected! So, everything looks wonderful!

Here is his little face, his eyes won't open for a few more weeks. Isn't he a cutie?!

And another, you can see his cord in the back :)
And of course a little footsie for Elisabeth :)
AH! He's so cute! We can't wait to meet him! It looks like if all goes well, we'll have him closer to the beginning of August rather than mid-August since they're going to take him out as soon as it's safe to. Better start working on the nursery!!

I like the number on my scale better.

I was wondering when it was going to happen...I have been gaining and losing a pound, pound and a half here and there for the past 5 months, mostly just watching the scale sit at a three-digit-number that is still 5 pounds too high from last year... I am right at 5 months pregnant and the Dr's aren't particularly happy that I haven't put on any weight, according to their scales, a few weeks ago, I've lost 4 pounds, of course on mine I've stayed the same. It was recommended to me to add a milkshake to my daily diet, and I should be pleased by that, but milkshakes aren't really on my short list of foods I'd like to eat. Noodles and bananas are, but thankfully not together. I am happy to announce, as of this morning, according to MY scale (which I wonder...why is it that mine is 8 pounds lighter than the doctor's scale?? Grrr. I like the number at home better) I've gained 4 pounds! FOUR entire pounds! Woohoo! I guess no more weight will be coming off my thighs and BE-hind anymore, aw. I'm glad I didn't start the milkshake diet since that was 4 pounds in 2 weeks.
If I were a betting woman, I'd say in the next 17 weeks before I have this little guy, I'll put on another 25 pounds...so's my prediction.

Half way there!

Our first 3D image where you can kind of see what he's starting to look like!

We are passed the halfway mark for this little one! Our 19 week ultrasound showed our little man measuring 19 weeks, 4 days and weighing in at a large 11 ounces! They did a very thorough exam this time and spent a great deal of time checking out his little four-chambered heart (beating at 147 beats per minute) for any sign of defects, and all looks great! His brain is developing nicely and we got to see fluid in his stomach and bladder this time, showing his esophagus and kidneys are in full functioning order! :) He also was very cooperative and let us see he is, for sure, a little boy! Check out those chunky thighs!!

My mother and sister were in town to watch this ultrasound and meet our wonderful doctor! Elisabeth's favorite picture are his little 1 inch feet - definitely Beer feet!! So cute!

His bones are getting stronger and his little finger bones show up nice and bright! Check out the "hello" hand!

And, finally, we have a great 3D image of his little legs. I love how you can already see the thigh muscle coming up from his teeny knees :) You can see the cord in this one and the tech described him as "jumping rope" with it! Ha!

So, things are definitely progressing and we are getting really excited! We still can't agree on any names so far, any suggestions? :) Happy Easter!

THE Perfect Accessory

Nich and I were enjoying a few hours out "on the town" and decided to check out the latest and greatest shoes at DSW for Spring and Summer! We have always enjoyed shoe shopping and occasionally actually buy some. So, we saw these really cool SHINY gold shoes that I have never seen anywhere - I've never seen a pair like them. It is a definite must-have for any girl and will definitely turn heads! They'll jazz up any outfit...I just can't decide which part of them I like more. Is it a flip flop? Is it a shoe? Is it for someone who wants the ease of a flip flop but the protection of a shoe? Minus the heel? Is it the shiny pink floor of the shoe that peeks out from under your toes? And you can barely see the zipper underneath the giant gold bow that is sure to aesthetically slim down any ankle! I couldn't resist - my size was RIGHT THERE! And only $49.99! So I had to try them on for you and let you see how GREAT they look :)

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!! My apologies to anyone who actually owns these shoes...
